Overview

Specialty Insurance Agency is a connected web platform that supports the complete customer journey, from discovering insurance products and requesting a quote to agency-side policy management and ongoing customer service.

The platform combines public marketing, customer onboarding, and internal operational tools into one cohesive experience.

02

Challenge

The platform serves multiple users with very different goals. Prospective customers need clear information, confidence, and a straightforward path to requesting coverage; agency staff need efficient tools for reviewing submissions, managing policies, and supporting customers. The challenge was designing experiences that feel connected while remaining optimized for each audience.

My role and approach

I was the product designer for Specialty Insurance Agency, responsible for the platform end to end: the public marketing site, the customer quote and onboarding flow, and the internal dashboard agency staff use to manage policies and support customers. The work wasn't just interface design — it was designing one continuous path from a stranger's first visit to the agency's day-to-day operations.

Requesting a quote: a single guided form that adapts to Performer, Vendor, or Event Planner, collecting exactly what each policy type needs.

Outcome

A single connected platform: customer acquisition, onboarding, and agency operations unified into one product experience, rather than separate tools for separate audiences.

Specialty Insurance Agency reinforced something I keep relearning: one product can serve completely different audiences without ever feeling like two products bolted together. A customer needed to feel confident enough to hand over their information and trust the coverage would be there when they needed it. Agency staff, looking at the same platform from the inside, needed speed and organization — the ability to move through submissions and policies without friction.

That's what stayed with me. Designing either side well meant never treating it as just a screen — it meant designing the whole service, start to finish, for two very different people meeting in the same place.
